The Palace of Culture and Science - the most famous, and, at the same time, the highest (230.6 m) building of Warsaw. In the past, it was named after Joseph Stalin. It was built in 1955, as a gift from the Soviet nation to the Polish nation.
At the beginning of 2007, it was acknowledged a monument.
The building, houses a number of institutions, among others, cinemas, theatres, and an institution of higher education. The biggest meeting room in Poland - Conference Hall (Sala Kongresowa), the Youth Palace, and the Museum of Technology are also located in this palace. It is worth going up to the observation deck on the 30th floor of the building.

St Ann’s Church - a church built in the 15th century, with a distinctive classical facade. The rich baroque interior is decorated with frescoes. It is worth paying attention to the beautiful altar and organ.

St John’s Cathedral - a church built in the 14th century, in the so-called Vistula Gothic style. Crypts in the cathedral are burial places of famous people, among others, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Gabriel Narutowicz, and Ignacy Paderewski.
In the summer, concerts of the International Festival of Organ Music take place there.

The Royal Łazienki - a palace and park complex established in the 17th century. You may find here, among others, Palace on the Isle, Amphitheatre, the White House, the Royal Orangery, monument to Fryderyk Chopin. In the immediate vicinity of the park, Belvedere – the residence of the president of Poland is located.

The Krasiński Palace - one of the most beautiful baroque palaces of the capital. It was built at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century. There is a beautiful garden and a pond at the back of the building.

The Warsaw Rising Museum - opened in 2004, in a historic building of the former tram power station. Multimedia techniques were used to form the exhibition, and as a result, we may hear the whistle of bullets, bang of falling bombs, songs sang by the insurgents. The central point of one of the museum halls is a replica of Liberator B-24J airplane.

The Old Town - a part of Warsaw, destroyed by bombs in World War II, reconstructed in the 1950s. The original district plan and the appearance of buildings were retained, which enabled to restore “the right atmosphere ". Nowadays, there are a number of restaurants, galleries, and street artists, here.
In 1980, Warsaw Old Town was entered into UNESCO World Heritage list. The Old Town Market Square is a particularly picturesque place.

The Royal Castle - situated in the city centre, in the vicinity of the Vistula River, the castle was the headquarters of royal power in the 17th and 18th centuries. Here, on May 3, 1791, the first constitution in Europe and, at the same time, the second in the world was established. The contemporary building is almost entirely, a reconstruction after the damages caused during World War II. The interior of the castle may be visited with a guide, and partly by oneself.

Zachęta National Gallery of Art - established in 1860. The present home of the Gallery was built in 1900. In 1922, the then president of Poland, Gabriel Narutowicz was assassinated in the building of the Gallery. Nowadays, Zachęta is one of the main Warsaw art centres. It offers a wide variety of exhibitions.

The Old Powązki Cemetery - the oldest necropolis of Warsaw located in the Wola district. The cemetery was established in 1790. Many famous Poles (writers, actors, artists, scientists, and politicians) were buried there. It is worth visiting this cemetery, especially due to the beautiful gravestones erected at the burial places.

Nowy Świat Street - one of the most famous places of the capital. In this street, you may find many elegant shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Praga - Warsaw district located on the eastern bank of the Vistula River. It has the best reputation. Nowadays, it experiences its renaissance due to the fact that it becomes fashionable, especially among the capital bohemia. However, there are many places where the former atmosphere of the district has survived.

The Palace in Wilanów - the former summer residence of the king Jan III Sobieski. The palace and park complex is one of the most beautiful monuments of the European baroque.

In the vicinity of Warsaw:

Żelazowa Wola - there is a house where, in 1810, Fryderyk Chopin was born. Inside the building, a small museum was established. The founders gathered things from that period and a piano, which is used to play concerts in the summer.
